Year 2018 Asian Water Bird Census is proposed to be conducted on 6th and 7th of Jan2018, Sunday. This survey is being organized by Indian Bird Conservation Network, Kerala Agricultural University and Kole Birders with support from Kerala State Forest Department.

As usual, this year’s AWC is planned at selected locations in parts Kole Wetlands, a Ramsar site and an Important Bird Area, spread over Thrissur and Malappuram districts.
Program will start on saturday, 6th afternoon at College of Forestry, KAU where participants assemble for detailed classes on field identification, counting methods, survey methodology and wetland conservation. Those who are interested may please fill out the Google form.

Accommodation for limited number of participants are available at KAU hostels, please indicate your preference.
Participants are expected to stay for entire length of survey(6am to 10am) and assemble back at COF after the survey on 7th.
We will be using EbIrd for data entry during the survey. Checklists of 15 minutes duration is to be submitted and shared to the ID – kolebirders. This will help fast compilation of results.
Wetland international require the following Google form to be filled up, regarding habitat, condition and threats, if any of the wetland site. This step is crucial, as bird survey data will not be considered without accompanying Google form.
